About
Sally Thomson
Sally Thomson is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. She is a Member of the General Hypnotherapy Register, which is a Professional body representing a large number of Hypnotherapy practitioners in the U.K. The Council has a strict set of eligibility criteria that all hypnotherapists wishing to join have to meet, and the Council requires all Members abide by the Code of Ethics and Practice.
Having studied Public Administration at Sheffield Hallam University, Sally’s subsequent work in the Social Services Department of two County Councils gave her a broad, compassionate and non-judgemental outlook on life’s difficulties and led to an interest in hypnotherapy as a tool for improving or enhancing an individual’s perception to the challenges they may face.
Sally is a mother to four children and understands the many challenges faced by people today as they try to balance a healthy home life with the demands of a career.
Sally is committed to helping people exceed their expectations by gaining increased control of their lives. She has a particular interest in weight management, confidence building, fears and phobias as well as anxiety related issues.
Sally has been awarded a Diploma in Working With Children Using Hypnotherapy, by the Innervisions School Of Clinical Hypnosis. This is particularly valuable when dealing with concerns such as confidence, fears of abandonment, stuttering or bedwetting in children and a more metaphorical “story telling” approach tends to be utilised in these case.
What is Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a perfectly safe and natural state of mind and body, similar to certain meditation techniques. It is a powerful and clinically proven means for allowing positive change in your life. During hypnosis your conscious mind and body are in a relaxed state while your subconscious mind remains awake and receptive to new positive suggestions. The subconscious mind is where all deeply rooted behaviour and thought patterns reside and hypnotic suggestions are used to change negative thought associations thereby changing behaviour;
Hypnosis has been approved by the British Medical Association since 1892 and reinforced in 1955. Medical hypnosis is increasingly recognised as a powerful healing modality with applications in all fields of medicine.
